A couple of weeks before her birthday, we surprised her with tickets to the Taylor Swift concert! She was beyond excited! She said it was the best day ever!

Lexi is such a sweetheart. I can't believe that she is 14! Where has the time gone? Lexi is such a caring girl. She loves being around her friends and is a good friend. We don't know how we got so lucky to have such a sweetheart. She always thanks me for everything that is given to her. She is so generous. She always wants to do the right thing.
Lexi LOVES, LOVES, LOVES music! She would rather buy music then anything else. She is so talented at learning the lyrics. She can listen to a song once or twice and know the words. Music is her passion! I am the luckiest mom in the world to be blest with such a wonderful daughter as she is!

We all attended Lexi's YW in Excellence last week. They made it into an awards ceremony, and the girls got to dress up in formal wear. Lexi was so excited to dress up. We were able to find a dress at the mall on clearance for $20!!!! I just LOVE a bargin! I had to take it in quite a bit, but it was worth it! She looked so beautiful that night. We are go proud of Lexi and the decisions that she makes everyday. She is such a strong person and always willing to stand up for the right. She is loving YW's!!!! They have such a great group of girls!

I am so thankful for so many things! I was very grateful to be able to spend Thanksgiving with my family. We had so much fun! We had a shooting compitition. We shot clay pigeons and ballons. The kids had a blast. We each got 5 shots. The best out of 5 won. I am so proud of my man, he got 5 out of 5!!!!! he beat out all of my brothers, brothers in law and my dad! He doesn't even shoot that much, but has a huge talent for it! I always love spending time with my family. We have such a great time together. I am so grateful that they are a huge part of my life!

David Archuleta Concert!

Lexi was thrilled to be able to attend the David Archuleta Concert with her Uncle John, Aunt Kindra and her cousin Aria. She was even more excited to be able to go back stage and meet him! Her uncle John produced some of his songs for a couple of albums, so he was kind enough to invite Lexi to the concert. She was so excited and even decorated a T-shirt especially for him!!!

I got to spend the weekend in Seattle with 2 of my sisters, Tricia and Dani! Tricia and her husband cody and their baby Max, moved to Seattle about 2 months ago. Cody is going to Grad school up there. My sister Dani (who is a travel agent) treated me to a trip with her to see Trish. The reason why she was so nice to do this is that I helped her paint her new basement! I loved this payment!!! It was so good to see Trish! I miss her so much! We also got our hair done. I REALLY miss her for that!!!! She showed us some beautiful sights. It was really cold, but we still had a great time. The only thing that would have made it the best, is if our sis Melissa could have been with us. She just couldn't get away this time. I want to make it a tradition for us as sisters to get away one weekend a year!

Lexi celebrated her 12th birthday on Oct. 21st. I can't believe that my baby is 12. She is the joy of our lives. We weren't blessed with quantity but quality! She has such a wonderful spirit about her and is so much fun to be around. She has great friends and is loving her school this year. She is so excited to be going into young womens. I remember so clearly going into yw's. I can't believe that I have a child that is old enough to be going.

We had a family party on her official birthday. She got to get out of school for half the day and Lance and I took her to Boondocks. That night we had family come over for cake and ice cream. She loves having her cousins around her, she then feels like she has a lot of siblings. Friday night she had a friend Fashion Show Party! They came ready to stut their stuff. We had a run way for the girls and took pictures. They got to then make a portfolio of themselves to take home. I made purses for all the girls to have (I had so much fun doing those)! They ate chocolate fondue, and just had a blast! I think that she had a great birthday week!!!!

Labor Day

Lexi decided that she wanted to go bowling on Labor day. Lance and I kind of have a love, hate relationship with any kind of competitve sports. I am a very competitive person, so from the first time we went bowling or mini golf or any kind of game like those, my fiery self comes out. over the years, I have mellowed out. I used to kick his butt, whenever we would go play, (just kidding)! Lexi has definetly taken after us in the competitive spirit. She does not like to lose, but who does!!!! We had a great time. Our first game Lance won with 133 , I came in second with 113, and Lexi got 106. Our second game I won (woo, hoo) with 129, Lance with 118, and Lexi got 79!

We spent the evening up at Thistle. Melissa, Dan and the boys were in town for the Holiday weekend. We had fun hanging around the fire, and just being with family.

I can't believe that my baby is in 6th grade!!! It seems like only yesterday that we were taking her to the first day of kindergarten. Lexi is going up so fast. It seems like the last couple of months she has changed so much. I couldn't be more proud to be her mom. She is such a good girl. She cares so much about people and making sure that we are happy. Lexi is a very sensitive girl. She is very aware of the things that she should and should not be doing. I really think that she was born with a keen sense of what is right and wrong. I am so proud of her and her decisions. Because we were only blessed with one child, I think that God gave us one of the best!!!!

Mid-Life Crisis?

I don't know if I am going through some kind of mid-life crisis, but I decided to get crazy (at least crazy for me). My sister Tricia, who does hair, is moving to Seattle in a couple of weeks. She came over to my house to do everyones hair one last time. My sister-in-law Jolea decided that she wanted to go Red, and when I saw her hair I fell in love! My sister encourged me to be brave and look what I did!!!! She wouldn't let me see it until she had it cut and styled. I was so shocked that I screamed and my heart was beating like crazy. I think it is going to be awhile before I look in the mirror and wonder who is looking back at me! I needed to do some kind of change. I guess I got it!!!!

My husband is a Stud! We had an Elders Quorum party tonight where we shot shotguns and had dutch oven cooking! It was so much fun. Lance did such an awesome job, he won the "spam" award. I couldn't believe how well he did! I got lucky on my first time up and got a clean shot off! My luck went down from there. I did end up getting another, but not like my hubby! A fun time was had by all!

Neco's surgery

Our poor little Neco had to have surgery! It was such a crazy thing too. He started limping one day and not putting any weight on his front paw. We tried to see if there was anything stuck in it, but couldn't see anything. We ended up taking him to the vet, who told us that it was a fox tail weed that had worked it's way up in his paw. He tried to get it out, but it was to far in. They ended up having to put him out to get it. Poor Neco was drugged up pretty good. He was out of it for a good day! He would run into something and then just stand there! We would physically have to go move him! We got a good laugh out of it! He is now on the mend.

Lance and I celebrated our 14th anniversary on the 28th of July! I can't believe how the time has flown. It seems like only yesterday that we were dating. I could not have married a better man than Lance. He is such an amazing person and treats me with so much love. He is always putting me first in everything he does. He always remembers all the important dates, (better than me)! He loves our family more than anything and always wants what is best for us. He is the best dad ever to Lexi! She has him wrapped around her finger. He is always saying that someday she won't want him around, so he is taking advantage of this time with her. Lance and I are the best of friends! I couldn't ask for a better companion! (Next year it's Hawaii)!!!!!

We had a wonderful day today with my sister Melissa. She went through the temple for the first time. What a neat experience it was for her and for our family. I am so happy for her and for her decision to go to the temple. I love my sister so much! We have been so close our whole life. She is just 10 months older then me. My mom raised us kind of like twins. Melissa is one of the sweetest people you will ever meet. She loves everyone and never judges or speaks ill of anyone. I couldn't be more proud to be her sister! We just had Lances cousin reunion this weekend. His cousins came from Idaho and stayed with us for a few days. We spend all day Saturday at John's house in his pool! Well, we finally broke down and let Lexi get a dog! I can't believe I am letting a dog live in my house! He is such a sweetie though, we couldn't have gotten a better dog. Lexi searched all over the internet trying to find the dog that had the conditions I set up, which were; it had to be potty trained and couldn't shed. One night Lance took her to the shelter and found Neco. He had been there for only a week, so we were very lucky. He is a shih Tzu, and the calmest dog ever. I have only heard him bark once in 3 weeks! Lexi is ecstatic! Lance and I said that we are in her good graces for years to come! She did use the only child speech to try and sway me. It must have worked a little bit!

We had so much fun at the reunion. I was in charge of it this year and I tried to plan a fun filled few days. We hung out with all the kids, went to Yuba lake, and had our own Beatty olympics. We had a 5k run and an outdoor movie night. The kids won prizes and played lots of games. Thanks to grandma and grandpa for the use of their house. We set up tents and trailers and some even slept in the tree house. I hope everyone had a good time and look forward to next year for more fun!!!!

My grandma passed away this May. She was such a wonderful woman. I was able to go see her a week before she passed and am so grateful that I had that opportunity to spend some time with her. She was such a loving grandma. I have many wonderful memories of her. She was a very classy woman. One of her favorite times was Christmas. She loved to decorate her house and always had a different tree every year. (I know where my mom gets that from)! She will be missed deeply, but I know that we will be together again and that she had a wonderful reunion with her loved ones.

Lance celebrated his 37th birthday on Jan. 20th! He went sking with Lexi and his brother John. He said that it was just beautiful and perfect up away from the inversion. I made him a homemade German Chocolate cake which is his favorite. I have to admit, it was really, really good, and really fattening!

I have been so busy lately that I haven't been able to keep up with blogging.

We had a wonderful holiday season and I can't believe that Jan. is almost over. I am extremely ready for Spring!! I know I have a few months yet, but I can dream of the warm sun on my face. I guess I'll have to just go skiing with Lance and Lexi next time, to get a little bit of sun!

I love Christmas time! It is one of my favorite times of the year. We decorated the house the weekend after Thanksgiving. It was so fun to decorate our new home. We spent Thanksgiving at John and Kindra's house. We had a lot of good food and good company. Kindra's family was there along with Lance's family. We played fun video games and then had their traditional bingo game. Bethany, kindra's sister, had lots of fun prizes, but the best prize was the last game. Whoever wanted to play blackout put in $5.oo. Lexi and I ended up winning $65.00!!!!! I was very excited! I don't ever win anything. We had a good time. Lexi had her voice recital on Nov. 22rd. She did such a great job and sounded so good. We are so proud of her! She is quite the performer and didn't seem to be nervous. She got a big surprise from her uncle John. He has been doing some arrangements for David Archuleta, and got her an autograph that he presented her with on the night of her recital. She was so excited!!! She took it to school the next day to show all of her friends and they thought that was so COOL!

I am so glad that we can focus on the upcoming Holidays and to forget the disappointing outcome of the elections. I was so tired of hearing all the political crap that was out there and just hope that we survive the next four years. I am going to focus on the good things in my life and enjoy the Holidays! I have been so busy lately. I just got called as the enrichment counsler in our new ward. We are having to staff everyone because the ward is all new. I have met some incredible women and am so excited to work with them and to get to know them. I hope everyone can remember this coming Thanksgiving of all the things they are grateful for and to remember to enjoy their family and friends!

We had a great time at Halloween! My Sister-in-law threw a great party! She went all out! Her house was decorated with all sorts of scary things. She had a great dinner with ham and potatoes. Lexi turned 11 today! She has had a fun filled weekend! She didn't get just one day for her birthday, but several days! It was UEA weekend so Lexi and I started it out by going to the movie Beverly Hills Chihuahua. She loved the movie, but it made her want a dog even more then she usually does. I guess we are mean parents, we just won't give in to her pleas! On Sunday we had all of the family over for cake and ice cream. She loves it when all of her cousins come over! We had a lot of fun with all the crazy kids. On Monday, Lexi had a friend birthday party. It was a spa party, where the girls got pampered. I have such great sisters who were willing to come and help out with nails and hair. My sister Trisha was the hit of the party with all of the up do's that she did! The girls had a blast! I can't believe how fast the time goes! It seems like only yesterday that I was holding a brand new baby girl. She is the love of our lives! Happy 11th Lexi!

Fall is in the air

Autumn is one of my favorite times of the year. I love the smell and the sights! We decided to take a little drive today while listening to conference. We went up Provo canyon and stopped at Bridal Veil Falls and then on up to Sundance. The leaves were just beautiful! We are so blessed to live in such a beautiful State. I love spending time with my family and feel so lucky to have them in my life!

Poor Lance was trying to do a good deed today and ended up in the hospital. I was leaving today to do my many errors that I seem to always have to do, when Lance came running down the garage stairs to give me money (I never will deny money)! Anyways, he missed the last step and fell on his ankle. Of course him being a man, he tried to shake it off. He went to a business lunch and half way through lunch he looked down at his ankle and it was he size of a baseball. Needless to say, he ended up in the ER. Luckly it was just a really bad sprain. The doctor was surprised after seeing the x-ray that it wasn't broken. He was a lucky boy today!

We spent friday night at Lances brothers house. We had such an enjoyable time talking and laughing with everyone. Lexi got to swim all night long. I think she would live in the pool if we had one! It was cold for us, but Lexi didn't seem to mind! It is so nice when family can get together and enjoy each other's company. Thanks John and Kindra for a great night!

Lexi made her goal this year! We challenged Lexi to go without sugar for a year. If she was able to accomplish this we would give her $100 dollars! She is very motivated by money! Her goal for this year is to go without sugar and work on portion control. I think that I need to take a lesson from her on will power. I am so proud of her, she is one wonderful kid!

My grandma and grandpa Clove celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on Aug. 31st. We celebrated by having a party for them. I was able to see many cousins that I haven't seen for many years. I can't believe how fast time flies. It was great being able to catch up and see all of their kids and find out what everyone has been up to! My grandparents are wonderful people and I was thrilled to be able to spend this time with them.

Holy Cow! Where does the time go?! Lexi started 5th grade today! It seems like only yesterday that we were taking her to Kindergarten. She had a great day. She loves her class and her teacher. This is the first year that she has a male teacher. She told me that he is very into Sponge Bob! I guess that keeps you young at heart. She was a little nervous about going to a new school and making new friends, but she is an outgoing person, so I don't think it will take her any time at all to make new friends. Here's to a great year!

My mom and dad celebrated their 45th anniversary on the 17th! They are such great parent's and I'm glad that they are mine! We spent the afternoon at their house and made dinner for them. Half of the family was able to go down to their house. They were very happy and appreciative that we made the effort to celebrate with them. Here's to many more years filled with fun and laughter!

Last Day's of Summer

Summer went by so fast. It seems like it just got warm and the kids just got out of school, when it's time to go back. We tried to pack in a lot of fun in the last week before school started. Lisa and I took the kids to 7 peaks one day. They had a blast. Lisa and I sat under the unbrella and snacked all day! Isn't that fun, we did go on some slides!

Maxwell has arrived!

We are so excited for the arrival of our new nephew! He was born early Tuesday morning at 2:35 a.m. Maxwell is his name. He weighed 6 pounds 6 ounces and was 19 inches long. Just a little guy! I was thrilled that she invited me in for the delivery. Earlier, Trish came down to Dani's so that we all could go for a walk. She didn't want to come at first, but I told her this would be the best thing for her if she was starting into labor. I told her to bring her bag just in case, (I didn't think she would really need it). We went for a good walk and when we arrived back at Dani's she sat down and had some water and all of a sudden she looked like she was having another pain; then a look of surpise came over her face. I said jokingly, "did your water just break" she look at us and said yes! Both Dani and I screamed and clapped our hands! It was pretty funny that we did it at the same time. She went to the hospital and then everything went quite fast. She was only in labor for 5 hours. She did great. I am so proud of her! She and Cody and the new baby Maxwell, are home now doing very well. She is a wonderful mom and very calm. She's been around a lot of babies! We are so happy for them!

Lance and I celebrated our 13th anniversery yesterday. It's amazing how fast time goes by. Lance has had to put up with me for a long time, and I am so thankful for him. He is an amazing person; so thoughtful of me, always! We celebrated by going to Outback Stakehouse. Lance loves a good steak, and his favorite dessert, the Chocolate thunder shake. He is always kind enough to share, (even though he would prefer I get my own)! My famous words to him are; I'll just have a taste of yours! Isn't that what most women say? Well, here's to many more years of bliss!

I finally took the plunge and decided to start my blog. I am not a writer, so don't expect to have any real inspired words, but I'm excited to finally keep some what of a life history.

We have been so busy with building our new house, that I haven't had time to think let along write anything. We are so excited to be in and settled. Lance says I'm OCD, which I tend to agree with him. I couldn't sit down until I had everything out of the boxes and put away and up on the walls. Summer is slipping away from us so fast! We had so many plans, but that seems to be every summer. Well, here are some pictures of the new house.
